No, MS is notorious for releasing products that don't work. For now till it's more stable go to start-%26gt;control panel-%26gt;add remove programs-%26gt;at the top check "show updates",-%26gt;scroll down in the list-%26gt;you will see IE7 listed, uninstall that, restart and you will be back at IE6. Then download Firefox and stop using IE to browse the internet. When you go online just open Firefox %26amp; not IE. If your internet provider only works with IE... fine... fire it up with IE %26amp; then minimize IE %26amp; open Firefox to surf. Firefox is way safer to surf with than IE %26amp; gives you a minimal browser to start with %26amp; you can add the extensions you want to customize it to how you surf.... Not the tools and options IE thinks you want.

Without knowing anything about your VPN setup, it sounds like it automatically setups up a proxy in the IE settings and not in Firefox.

If by chance the file was made using Unicode, Firefox will not load the page and template properly. Try validating both the HTML and CSS file using Direct Input or URL to see if by per chance there are some non-standard characters.
You could also verify that both FF and IE are viewing your site using the same character encoding.

Firefox has greater security, the css template that you are using is blocked because firefox sees it as odd or dangerous behavior, so it blocks the css from loading. However i could be wrong.

No. I tried this in Windows XP. There are some sites that try to get this to work, and they SAY it does work.
Search for Running IE 7and IE6 together.
When I tried it, it caused problems. The only solution from Microsoft wants to run a Virtual Machine of Windows (XP) and run the IE6 version from there, it was kind of dumb.
But there are sites that have old downloads of IE (like IE 4, 5 and 6). They tell you how to install it so its in a different folder, but I never got it to work.
I was going to say no, I did not believe you could. However I decided to look it up before posting and found a blog explaining how do it using virtual PC (VPC). You can run IE7 normally in Vista and run IE6 under the VPC. There are some problems with doing this that will make it not work as it would if it were properly installed.
IE 6 was not supported in Vista and you can't install to IE versions into same OS.
Not sure about vista, it is certainly possible in XP. Have a look at http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie and see if any of the IE6 versions run on your vista PC. IE7 will be default, but IE6 will run like any other program once you start it by clicking on the IE6 icon.
They just behave like normal programs you can even run both at the same time.
This solution is much easier and works better than the microsoft solution given above.

Well.... I must say that firefox has a lot of trouble with javascript. It's possible that it doesn't recognize the 'fullscreen' thing. In that way, you need to previously define the width and height of the window:

We recently upgraded our website from .NET 1.1 to .NET 2.0 and we are all of a sudden having some odd problems with certain versions of IE (we think we've narrowed it down to v2800).
For instance, when an AJAX call is made it will just "hang" for minutes at a time. We also get the same result with some very basic web controls like LinkButtons.
Has anyone else seen something similar to this or know what the problem may be? Upgrading browsers isn't an option because it's thousands of people and that would be pretty difficult.

sure sounds like it's the server config or your app.. check the logs, how long does it take to make a trivial ajax call. is there something you are doing different in the http headers? does 2800 introduce some different encoding?

I have done all the basic troubleshooting so please dont tell me to go to internet option, pull all the sliders down to low. That does not work for me.

There shouldn't be a reason for cookies to be unsupported by one browser. Perhaps you have disabled all or some cookies in the problematic browser?
i think each browser has its own setting whether u want to disabled or enabled cookies.. thus you might need to check whether your cookies is enable at IE or Opera.

It is very annoying. When ever I open up a window I receive a pop up. After that, as I continue to browse the net I receive more pop ups. I have even got that nasty win antivirus/system doctor ads. You should reinstall IE7. That is not your problem. Then be sure ad blocker is turned on. Under tools, on the right side.

You didn't mention an active virus protector. You may well have a virus. Spybot is great, but it doesn't do everything and it will not prevent you from getting a virus. Get avast or AVG or Anti-vir for free. Or Norton or McAfee or something else, if you want to pay. Install it (only one of these, not more) and run the scan of your computer.
Get the Yahoo toolbar for both Firefox and IE. This has a popup blocker. Not perfect, but it helps. Then from the Yahoo toolbar in IE get Norton anti virus and update and run it. From the Yahoo toolbar get Yahoo anti spy, Update and run it. Don't reverse these, because the Norton will uninstall your Yahoo anti spy.
You need one more passive protector besides Spybot. All of these programs will show you a little something different and one of them will solve your problem. If not, an exorcist may be needed. lol

It sounds like you have a trojan (a fake program) installed.
Internet Explorer does not display advertisements so it is entirely blameless (this time anyway).
1) Find out the name of the trojan. It is probably trying to get you to buy a useless product.
2) Do a Google search on this product and it should lead you to a forum where you can get advice on how to remove the trojan.
All trojans are different so there are always different methods of getting rid of them.

Make sure your firewall allows access. And let IE go to that page, it is only displayed once the first time you run it. Then attempt to go to the page you are trying to view.
When I browse and choose the file I want to attach, then click on the attach button, I get "IE cannot dislay the webpage". My internet connection is fine because I can browse other pages no problem. Have a look in your desk drawer, it could be there. A long shot, but you never know.
have you checked the settings for the keyboard i:e language and settings are all correct
I had the same problem and found it finally. Look on the bottom of the keyboard just above the bottom screw on the left side.
Do you have a US or UK keyboard and is it configured for the correct locale? Check those things and then tell us if you have a problem.
Looks like the keyboard layout as been changed. check the language setting and make sure its Uk not USA as that can change some of the key layout around like the @ button.
Perhaps one of your "hilarious" colleagues swapped the keys around? LoL!
You have been switched over to a US keyboard layout from a UK layout.

there you can set your default keyboard. If you have more than one keyboard installed, then sometimes a hot-key combo of Left-Alt + Shift swaps it around.
Maybe you hit that combo by accident?

No. It's not a problem. I have installed Internet Explorer, Maxthon 1, Maxthon 2, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator on my computer. It's not a problem. And I use all of them because I make websites and the websites must be supported by all these browsers, that's why I use them all to view the pages I have created so that I can check if they are supported by them all.
Fire fox is a completely separate internet browser and therefore will not interfere with IE 6.

Someone (or some piece of software) has modified the registry key that brands Internet Explorer (designed for use by ISPs, so you get "Internet Explorer by Your Service Provider).

Internet Explorer and Microsoft are like brother and sister, and they can't really be separated, but. . . . If u install a very useful program called "Ccleaner" you can specifically get rid of IE, go to download.com and search the program and read about it, if you're a little uncomfortable.

What happens, only IE%26amp; can be uninstalled, all the others are vital for operation of Windows.

Both browsers are setup to check to make themselves the default browser every time they are started. I am almost 100% sure you can disable this question by means of a checkbox in the same dialog box where you are prompted for this upon starting the browser.
As for uninstalling IE, I am not familiar with any non-hacking-related practices to do this. Simply don't use it, if you don't want to. :)

If it's changing the default browser then that's not a big issue, simply change IE's preferences so that it stops checking if it's the default browser. End of problem.
If it's something else, you'll need to be far more specific and provide more information (such as what version of Windows) for anyone to be of assistance because while IE may be a pain, it is deeply integrated into the latest versions of Windows and required for some programs to operate as they are hardcoded to look for IE.

No, of course not! Disney doesn't want you to leave! There is a rental car facility on Disney property. Personally, if I could afford it this is what I would do. That way you aren't having to meet up with a car service and having to establish a schedule.
But if you don't want to do this, you can have the front desk set up a regular cab for you. There are also Mears shuttles, which are a little bit cheaper. I have taken them before - the only complaint I have is that they are not precisely on time. Which is why I said I would rent a car. But they are within a few minutes, and they are nice. They are online, too, so you can search and see approximately how much it would cost you. There's also a private company called Quicksilver Limo that is online and provides really good service I have been told, though I have not personally tried them out.

Your best bet is to just call a cab. I stayed at Saratoga Springs last April and we went and visited Sea World. It was very easy and much cheaper than renting a car. Go to the concierge or bell services and tell them you need a cab, how many people, and what time. They will call a cab and have it ready for you when you want. You get door to door service, and when you are ready to come back there is a cab stand at any of the other attractions to catch one back to your resort. You don't have to worry at all about a car the whole time you are there. They have the magical express for shuttle service to and from the airport, and of course the transportation system inside the Disney resort.

I'm creating a site using Perl, Mason Site Builder. My layout has a lot of dotted lines. While the dotted lines work well and are seen perfectly in Firefox as they are, in IE they completely suck. In IE, the lines sometimes are blurry, invisible, and in some parts they stick together like lines. I've checked my codes. I've checked everything. I finally got my cookies writing to the client-side, but now IE is crashing after a certain of cookies had been sent. There is at least between 5-15 radio button choices per page and there is about 35 questions. Isnt there a way I can save all of that into a cookie file on the client side?

The maximum cookie size is 4kb, so if you're going beyond that it won't work.
When I am not logged into yahoo, I get two duplicate yahoo toolbars. I tried uninstalling yahoo toolbar and re-installing them again but still end up with duplicate yahoo toolbars, i.e. two "search" areas, etc. I tried the "view" "toolsbars" option in IE and it still shows one toolbar. Yahoo! mail is the problem, not IE or Outlook. I can't find a fix for a problem when forwarding an email with pictures. It doesn't happen all the time, it's pretty random. There's one person that sends me emails with pictures to my Yahoo! address and his will NEVER forward with the pics. Go figure.
