Slow Performance on Dell Inspiron 1150 when IE is open.?

The computer seems to run fine until I open IE/Firefox and then performance is reduced drastically. I have checked for viruses/spyware/adware and can find nothing. Dell has told me nothing. The computer isn't that old.

Well, firstly lets get ur services under control if their not :)

Dell uses alot of bloatware/trialware

hit up this site (print the list if need be)

www.blackviper.com read their list of xp services (vista too)

then, get these free tools... adaware(lavasoft.com) spybot(safer-networking.org) HiJackThis(trend.com) winsockfix v1.2(majorgeeks.com)

install and run the adaware/spybot update

start-run-apps-accessories-systools disk cleanup

reboot safe mode w/ networking (continually press f8 upon reboot)

Run adaware and spybot deleting anything they find.

Run Hijackthis (this shows all BHO's on ur browser~very important)

Run free online scan (trend.com bitdefender.com pandasoftware.com) remove any findings

Run winsockfix v1.2

Reboot, if problem still exists msg me for further details
