Internet explorer has stopped working and restarting when launching any website that uses IE brower.

I've bought a Compaq's laptop, with Window Vista Home Basic version, also the Internet explorer browser included in Window Vista. Two weeks ago, when i downloaded something from any website, the internet explorer has stopped working and restarting, then i could still launch another webs in new window. Unfortunately, yesterday when i tried to launch any website using IE, it has stopped working without restarting, then the window was closed. Now i could not even open any website using IE, i must install Firefox and use it in stead of IE. I think my internet explorer should have some problems.
