The 'orange bar' looks normal in IE. But when I look at it in other browsers such as FireFox it doesn't show the bottom border? Whats up with this? Please exaplin clearly or edit the code. Thanks!

Sometimes the order of items in CSS matters- in this case, try putting your bottom border items in the same order as your top border items, which are working.

Your current code says border top size, border top style, border bottom style, border top size.

(size then style, style then size. Instead go size then style, size then style)

Use this instead:

border-top:2px; border-top-style:solid; border-bottom:2px; border-bottom-style:solid;

This change to the code worked for me.

Couple of things:

1) remove the cell padding

2) increase the pixel size for height

IE and Firefox render this stuff differently so you'll need to play around with it
Dunno where to start... it seems weird using a span inside the td like that, I would put an ID or class on that td and format that. Define the border-top and border-bottom of the td as orange.
rearranging it like this helps:

border-bottom:2px; border-bottom-style:solid;

size, then style - same as you did for the top border
